Quick question: manjaro liveusb not recognizing USB drives?

Hi, I'm trying to format a new 3tb Toshiba ext hdd, only that when I boot the manjaro live and go into gparted, it doesn't show up, only my sata disks...
lsusb shows the device is listed
perhaps a driver failed to load and I also should mention I'm using USB 3

I guess one thing I should try is another live distro? manjaro is just my goto.

cat /proc/partitions

ls -1 /dev/disk/by-id/

seeing it with lsusb is good too, if you see it with above commands you should be able to do something, there may be other partition tools like the gnome or KDE ones

thanks I should mention I got this fixed,
my msi gaming 970 motherboard was the problem and this was the solution
