Quick Question about using a Xbox 360 controller on pc

Quick question, do the adapters that make your wireless xbox 360 controller to wireless actually work?

I want to start playing dark souls but have herd that you need a controller because it's such a shitty port.

Also are the adapters just cheap & shitty? Or should I shell out the cash for a crappy wired one. I have 2 wireless ones that I haven't used in ages so

Ehh, you are better off just grabbing a wired controller.

the wireless adapters work very well you can probably grab one for 10 to 20 bucks. whats good about them is that the majority of pc games that have controller support prefer the xbox remote. so you'll be fine. do take into account there isnt auto aim on pc so using a controller is going to feel a bit weird.

On ebay there is like a 1000 of them for 2 bucks, that's why I'm asking if they won't work or something?

i paid 10-15 for one off amazon, works as advertised, never paid attention to build quality or anything, good i guess

I have one and it works great. I made sure to buy the official one from microsoft that comes bundled with the controller i heard bad things about the non microsoft branded ones. Here's the one i bough its $42 on amazon and it comes with a controller.

I can vouch for this one. Works as it should. I mostly use it for platformers and racing games. Make sure you install the correct driver(s). Don't bother with the CD that comes with the wireless receiver. Here's the instructions that I used to get mine to work...

  1. First, download the latest driver(s) from Microsoft
  2. Go to Start and then type "Device Manager"
  3. Right click on "Unspecified Device" or "Unknown Device"
  4. Click on "Update Driver"
  5. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software"
  6. Click on "Let me pick from a list..."
  7. Select the Microsoft Controller.
  8. Then select the Xbox 360 Wireless receiver for Windows.

Thanks but I'm really not trying to spend more then like 20$ considering I have 2 controllers that will remain useless if I buy another one lol
