Quick noob question about modular psu

Hey everyone, so I have a RM750 PSU with modular cables, I am putting my PC together now but I am stuck at the powering end of things. The PSU came with two cables that both have two 6+2 pci-e connections at one end. Is it okay to just use one cable to power my GPU? My GPU needs one 6 pin and one 8 pin connection. Thanks for the help in advance.

Since they're 6+2, here's what you do.

Plug both cables into your PSU.  You need both.

Take one of them(shouldn't matter which one) and plug all 8 pins into the slot on the GPU with 8 pins.

Take the other cable, and plug the 6 pins that are together into your GPU.  Two pins should just be hanging out, not plugged into anything.

Thanks! Sorry, still new to this stuff on some things. I figured that would be the case but just asking. Surprisingly everything else so far has been smooth, just time consuming.

Don't worry, we all have our hiccups when we first started.

After a couple of builds, you get pretty quick.  The only thing that really eats up time for me is cable management.
