Hi! So I'm looking to buy a cheap headset and I've been looking at the Audio Technica ATHAD500X That Logan recommended in his sub $150 gaming headset replacement video. My only question is can my motherboard's onboard audio power it? I really know nothing of impedance and if 48ohms is a too much for regular motherboard to power. My board is the gigabyte 990fx ud3 rev 4.0. I am also looking to add an amp later so if anyone has an good, cheap amp recommendations that'd be great. Not sure if its needed or going to be beneficial with this low end of a headset so that'd be great to know also. Really I am such a noob at this xD sorry if I asked any duh questions I have no audio hardware / software experience beyond my Logitech g930's which are not exactly great...
The motherboard will drive it fine. My laptop drives my 70 ohms Sennheisers without a hitch and hardly ever above 20% of the windows volume thing.
