Lets say I'm in a bad situation with money right now and I were to hypotheticly download a pirated version of Windows 7, due to the fact £80 is alot of money and there are far more important things for money to go towards in our situation
Hypotheticly, would I be able to download specfic hardware updates such as graphics drivers, and other drivers if I was using a pirated version of windows that wasn't updated?
Would I encounter any problems playing games or other stuff? Also are the 'RemoveWAT' programs reliable and fully bypass the activation system and lets me use the OS like normal?
I honestly was going to buy it legitmately, but recent circumstances have made me resort to (hypotheticly) pirating it.
we can't hypothetically help you with that, but if you are a college student you can get server 2008 for free from microsoft dreamspark, server version have the same fuctionality as regular versions, I've used them before
If its pirated properly then you get all the updates and drivers and stuff work fine just as if you bought it. If however you are stupid and get it from a bad source like piratebay then it most likely has a virus and you will lose your steam account, bank info and so on it may cost you more in the long run.
If you have a legit xp or vista you can upgrade to windows 8 for £50. Considering how much you use windows its well worth the money.
You can download the legitimate .iso file from Microsoft (Digitalriver, I think is the hoster) then install it and you can run it for 30 days without activiation. I'm pretty sure there's a trick that let's you extend the trial period up to 90 days in total. If you need to keep using without paying then just reinstall the OS again and go for another 30 or 90 days.
well the server versions have more functuionality because its the server version, what it boils down to is, that the server versions are the desktop versions with added features specifically for servers, networking magic and that kind of jazz, but it will fucntion as a Desktop OS just fine, you may have to enable some services like themes but I think they have that enabled int he 2008 version.
it should support all the same games windows 7 can, if not I'm pretty sure you can run the game in a virtual machine of 7 with no performance loss
Would I be able to put the file onto a disk and install it onto the new computer for the 30 day period? Also I couldn't find it but I think this is right? http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-from-digital-river/
I've been playing with ubuntu on an old laptop of mine and With a few themes and skins it feels like my windows 7 system, and with 'wine' it runs most of my windows programs. Depending on what games/apps you are trying to run you may have some driver issues. But it would be worth it to spend the time learning all that rather than pirating 7.
or wait for someone you know to upgrade to Windows 8 and ask for their windows 7 disk and such. (is that still illegal?)
if they UPGRADE, that is a possible yes, but if they outright bought it then as long as they don't have a computer using it then yes you could use the 7 disc and key
Yeah, those links are good. But when you put the .iso on a disc just make sure you burn the .iso to the disc properly. Here's a tutorial, http://www.ehow.com/how_5018371_burn-iso-image-using-imgburn.html Just Google for ImgBurn, it's a free download.
You don't have to pirate anything. You can have a fully legal windows pc for free. Microsoft has a "server" version of windows 7 called Windows Server 2008 R2 that is essentially windows 7 with different initial configuration (like disabled aero) - and you can get a 6 month trial version of it for free. More to that, after 6 months you can reset the counter up to 5 times - for 3 years total. After 3 years just reinstall and repeat.
