Hi,
I am installing a new motherboard in my computer, keeping the processor and most other components (going from H87 to Z87), I am planning to do a clean install to a new ssd. Will i run into problems while installing and activating Win8? i installed the system i'm currently using about a mont ago.
Bought the H87 motherboard because there wasn't any good m-itx MBs at the time.
OEM is supposed to be tied to the motherboard. However, people haven't had problems moving an OEM licence. It could be a non-issue.
Worst case scenario, you just have to phone Microsoft and deal with an automated system (easy enough to fool), or tell them your motherboard was faulty.
Agreed, OEM is actually linked to the hardware so much so that an override code is usually needed for the activation. If you read up on OEM/System Builder copies (the ones that are cheap), then you'll notice the HUGE disclaimers warning against using them for hobbyist builds or attempting to transfer the license. Some even claim it's impossible.
