Question about the new Godzilla movie if anyone has seen it yet. [contains spoiler]

So i saw the new Godzilla movie, being a big fan of the earlier movies (except the one from 1998 of coarse), i was excited to see where they would take this one. Just as I thought, they went with more of an "Americanized" apocalyptic film style with an over-dramatic and over-explained back story for a main character that literally does nothing. But the battle scenes stayed true to classic Godzilla so i was happy. There was just one thing that i didn't really get, At the end of the movie, Godzilla gets knocked out by a building with the larger Muto still alive. The Muto walks to the boat that Ford (the main character) is laying in with the nuke. Then out of nowhere Godzilla comes up and kills it; this is fine because you assume that Godzilla just woke up and walked over but in the next scene (the morning after) Godzilla is shown getting up out of the rubble and walking back to the sea. So at this point you would assume that there are two Godzillas but the news broadcast was praising just that one Godzilla as the hero, as if noone in the city saw the second one which is taller than most of the buildings that are left. So I guess my question is, are there 2 Godzillas, is it a continuity error, or did i miss something?

I don't understand how you jumped to the conclusion that there are two godzillas. There was no second godzilla shown.

This is my take on what you are saying. When the building knocked godzilla out, it took a bit for him to stop seeing the birdies and dig himself out, but once he was out he went ahead and wrecked the last Muto with a fury. After that he was pretty much pooped from fighting two other monsters, and having a skyscraper dropped on him, so he took a nap, then got up the next morning and went back to the ocean depths.

What I think you saw, was that since most of the city was destroyed, and different lighting (night->day) you misjudged the size of godzilla. During the battle at night, there were buildings and Mutos to compare to godzilla's size, but the next morning most of the city was in ruins.

Other thoughts: Kinda hoping for more, would love to see what else they could do with the Godzilla franchise with today's tech. Bring back all the good old baddies. Mech Godzilla, Destroyah, King Ghidorah, Gigan, etc.

Oh ok that makes sense, I didn't think of the possibility of him napping haha thanks for pointing that out. I was just under the impression that he was in the rubble of the skyscraper until the next morning so i just thought a second probably just popped up for that scene.

About your other thoughts: Yeah i would definitely love to see more as well, as this one actually stayed pretty true to the previous movies.

Thanks again for your input.
