This album came out back in '88 and has been long hailed as one of the best progressive metal albums ever made. It's a concept album (has a continuing story throughout all the songs) centering around a street kid named Nikki who gets recruited into an underground revolution by a mysterious figure known as "Dr. X". Dr. X indoctrinates Nikki into his order as a hitman to assassinate various political and religious leaders, satisfying his heroin addiction if he completes the missions. Nikki develops a love interest with a runaway prostitute-turned-nun named Mary, which complicates things for Dr. X. Im not going to post any spoliers so you'll have to listen to it to learn the rest of the story.
Personally, I've never met anyone who couldn't find it in themselves to enjoy this album. Slow songs, fast songs, emotional songs, murder, sex, drugs, revolution, it's got something for everyone. So I'm sharing it with you guys incase you haven't heard of it already, who knows, it might just become your new favorite album.
