Quake on linux

Hi, I've been trying to get quake live to work in Ubuntu 15.05 and i installed something called qllauncher
http://www.webupd8.org/2014/12/qllauncher-quake-live-launcher-for-linux.html
Whenever I choose the download and install option it does absolutely nothing!
Are there any fixes for this?

Sadly they somehow managed to make it only support windows despite it basically being quake 3 arena which supports half a dozen platforms.

Good news is it apparently works very well in wine so that would be my suggestion. https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=8463

Check the standalong of steam links in the link above.

is it set to be allowed to execute

Buy this Dos Gem and use Darkplaces http://www.gog.com/game/quake_the_offering

Oh, well I'll try wine. But I already tried a few games with wine and i enabled CSMT and I only get around 20fps so yeah....

Unity and Gnome 3 for some reason won't allow executing programs from the file browser or desktop. You can fix that by going into nautilus's settings and allowing that.
