Quadro K4000 locked in 8-bit color

Hi.

I was just checking my video settings on the Nvidia Control Panel when I just found out that my Quadro K4000 only outputs 8bpc instead of 10bpc color depth which I intend to have with my Asus PA monitor. I can't switch it to 10-bit since it is the only option I have for output, and I have already plugged it on a Displayport cable. Am I missing something here?

For everyone's information, I have a Quadro K4000 (Display driver 353.06) plugged in an Asus PA238Q IPS monitor.

https://www.asus.com/uk/Monitors/PA238Q/specifications/

16.7 M colors = 8 bits

That info on main page might be a marketing trick, doesnt have to mean true 10 bit but some technological tricks to make it look better

Yeah.

It is an 8 bit panel with FRC which simulates 10 bit.

It says on the spec sheet that it has a 10-bit color table, so your conclusion is probably true, although that confuses me now if the 10-bit depth output my Quadro makes is wasted on my monitor accepting 8-bit and then tweaks it to look closer to 10-bit (insert Inception joke here).

That said, I'm still awaiting how this will affect my workflow, especially in post-production. If this is true, then I can plug a Geforce card and won't see a tad dofference in output since the monitor does the tweaking itself, not my Quadro.
