Q: Power stage differences between ASUS TUF & ROG STRIX X670E MOBO

Morning,

Question - looking to build another system based on the Ryzen 9 7950X CPU and we are trying to determine what amounts to a CDN$200 difference between:

ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-E

and

ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS

Other than the power stages, other differences seem minor (Intel vs Realtek NIC) and some fancy RGB lighting on the ROG.

How important is the power stage difference? Thoughts?

TIA

Has Buildzoid done a comparison on these two motherboards yet ?

He usually goes over the boards when he can get them or the pics and specs and details the VRM and Power Stages accordingly.

Many times there isn’t much of a difference other then maybe the rating of the power stage, like 70a vs. 90a or higher.

Sometimes there are brand differences too but there has been so much consolidation in the tech industry that many brands are part of the same parent company now.

He’s only done quick overview of the lineups yet but basically everything is overkill unless you do xoc. (Perhaps the very lowest tier b650 will be edge case for water OC)
