Purple/Pink Tinted Screen With Proprietary AMD GPU Driver

I have a R9 380 with proprietary AMD GPU driver and running Manjaro Mate. This is probably the tenth time this happened. I tried Ubuntu Mate and Ubuntu Gnome the result is the same. I've been reinstalling linux to fix it..The issue doesn't do this with the open source driver. I need help finding a permanent fix.

R9 308

I'm assuming R9 380.

If You're having issues with Manjaro, you're not going to have better results with Ubuntu. People need to stop thinking that Ubuntu is a stable or working distro.

Here's the thing. That looks like a cable issue, rather than a software issue. When you reinstall, is it possible you bumped the display cable while plugging in the USB or something? First thing's first, let's check that the cables are securely connected.

If that doesn't solve it, What drivers exactly are you using? AMDGPU is an open source driver by amd, Catalyst and Crimson are proprietary drivers by AMD.

I didn't think to check the cable because live manjaro environment looked normal. It seemed to be a combination of things a bad cable and a bad port on the monitor. it's strange how it only happens with the Catalyst driver. Thanks for the help.

No problem. I've had this happen before, so I figured it was a quick fix.

I doubt it only happens with the Catalyst driver. It's more likely that you didn't stay on AMDGPU long enough to see it happen on there.
