My top 140 mm exhaust fan on my cm scout is making a "rackety" sound.
I cleaned out the dust tightened the screws/loosen them...still the sound is there.
It's driving me insane... Any body got any fixes?
I can't deal with it anymore...
help a desperate soul...
buy a new fan, lol one of the blades on my 140mm broke off and im using it with 1 blade missing
If you want a silent casefan, Noctua is the deal.

Put some WD-40 on the ball bearings.
Yah but $30 for a fan thats brown and beige flesh color is not my thing.
wd-40 champ, use it. if you want a new fan, just get a shitty one.
This had happened to me too for the rear fan. The propeller was very loose like you can almost pull it out.
Where do i actually put the wd 40?
Between the centre of the rotor blades and the frame, there's a motor inside. Spray on it.

Its not vibration. I completely unscrewed the fan and the sound was there. It's the bearing that's making the sound.
I was told not to use WD-40 but Olive oil.

I had that annoying sound in the bearing and those screws shut that shit up. If that olive oil doesn't work, buy a new fan.
Yah, I'm going to try some Olive oil...
The anti vibration is cool and but for $10 + shipping I might as well buy a new fan.
I was told to purchase ball bearing and not sleeve bearing. Have any suggestions?

I'm telling you man, pull out the propeller and spray your bearings down with some WD-40, or olive oil, or baby oil( pretty much any kind of lubricant, which i know you have ;) )
If it persists buy new bearings or buy a new fan or duct tape a vacuum to your computer.
HAHAHA yah...
I'm going to try some olive oil and see how that goes. If not than new fan it is... I been wanting some red led fans...
