6 years ago I build my first gaming PC. This PC has been in many phases and hardware has been swapped many times. Currently I’m rocking a 8700K with an AIO, AMD VEGA 56 GPU, Asus z370 Strix F Gaming mobo and a lot of drives. 2 X 1 TB samsung 860 evo’s, 970 EVO, 4 TB Seagate drive HDD and a 2,5 " 1 TB just for fun and it was free.
The only thing that has not been changed in this 6 years is the 650 watt PSU from cooler master. It begins to show age. cabels are getting damaged. Its not fully modular but only semi. It’s brons not gold etc.
TL;DR
Anyway i’m looking for a new PSU around 600 watt-ish. But these things are expansive as sh!t. Would like to keep below 100 euro but also want something reliable. Please no RGB. Also i’m not really familiar with PSU brands.
I bought my Seasonic Focus 650W Gold for about 90 euros… It have 7 years warranty.
If you find the Focus PLUS it have 10 years warranty and a fan off mode.
I’ve seen Seasonic Core GC-650 go for around €95, that should be a great PSU and cover all of your needs, and specs seems to check out.
Unfortunately shipping shortages are creating shortages of all PSUs worldwide due to the bulky and heavy nature of these things. Would be almost cheaper to buy a case with an included PSU right now…
Seasonic makes good PSUs, if you’re in the EU superflower does as well
corsair and EVGA PSUs are generally a safe bet but seasonic has a better reputation
I’d stay away from thermaltake PSU’s
coolermaster makes some decent PSU’s
Seasonic Focus gold series 650W is basically enough.
If you want a little bit more headroom for eventual feature upgrades,
in regards to a gpu’s etc.
Then you could also look at the 750W or 850W models.
Because they are not that much more expensive.
But 650W is basically more then fine.
You could eventually check out Azerty or Alternate if they have them in stock.
Not sure how trustworthy Max ict is, because i read and hear mixed results.
