PSU Probs

Hi! Right now I have a 330w psu and GTX660. I am getting a new case, and to go with that case I am getting a  Corsair hx650. My question is, if I want to upgrade to a GTX780 or 790, will my psu will support it?

Thanks!

If indeed your power supply is 330w (shudders, lol) then absolutely not. It would be helpful to know the rest of your specs so we can recommend a better wattage supply for your build. Generally those cards need at LEAST a 600w power supply, and even that low will likely cause problems.

Right now, since i retail bought my pc (sigh. i know.) I am limited to a 330w power brick. Right now I have an i5 3570k and GTX660 and 6gigs of ram.

I think if I upgrade my gpu i will go to a gtx 770

The 770 is a good card. I'm not sure how much power the i5 draws, but I'm assuming it's not much since they got away with 330 watts. My recommendation would be to grab a 650w psu. Corsair makes some good ones at competitive pricing. You're going to want one with a single, high amperage 12v rail. If you do a little research you can easily find what is compatible with a gtx 770. Sorry I can't recommend a specific supply. I'm okay on theory but not to familiar with many of the end products themselves, if that makes any sense. Good luck.

Thanks! And I might be able to  scrounge enough money to get me a nice 750 watter

750 watts would be great haha. With a psu like that you could keep it and re-use it if you ever wanted to build your own computer with a little more kick.
