I am currently working on a PC build, however I am not sure what PSU I should choose. I tried looking on the internet, but found mixed reactions. This is my first time building a PC so I apologize for my ignorance. Here is my build:
MB - MSI z87-g45
GPU - EVGA GTX 760 Superclocked 2GB
CPU - Intel core i5 4670k (Overclocked to about 4.2 Ghz)
I live in the Netherlands, so we use euros. My budget would be 90,- euro maximum. On this site you can see all the power supplies that are available in the Dutch web stores. You can use filters on the left side. Obviously it's in Dutch, but Google translate does a decent job. The only preference I have is a modular PSU of 80 plus which can also run GTX 760s in SLI. At first I didn´t really think of going SLI which is the reason I didn´t put it in my post, but I changed my mind. Judging from this video 2 GTX 760s in SLI would consume roughly 520 watt, although the test bench in the video is a bit different than my system. Moreover, I found this from Ncix. They use 2-way GTX 760 SLI with a PSU of 750W, however they use more RAM, two SSDs, the 4770k and the H100i water cooler. Is this information helpful at all? If you need more information please feel free to ask.
Lepa G is a pretty good unit. It is the only one that fits the criteria you suggested, and my own assumptions. I thought gold efficiency would be appropriate to run 2 way SLI, in comparison to 80+, or 80+ bronze.
It doesn't appear to be fully modular. It shouldn't matter, unless you want to sleeve all your cables.
I have done some more research and I found out about the Corsair AX760. I know it's way above my budget, however I think it's worth the extra money if it is able to last a long time (warranty of 7 years). Moreover, it is certified as 80 plus platinum and probably future-proof. What do you guys think, should I buy this for my system?
760W will never see the light of day on your system. If,if you are willing to spend that much, go for a Seasonic X 650, so you can at least add another 760 later on, and all the storage or CPU upgrades you want. Same 7 year warranty, hits 80+ Platinum under cold load, and an even tighter ripple than the AX760, for less money.
