(PSA) Marketing can Fool Don't Let it Fool YOU

I'm noticing mother board manufacturers started marketing an Isolated PCB as a feature as if this is something new. I have news for all of you ITS NOT, not even close

This is right from msi's website today

Here is an old AM3 (Not AM3+) mother board DDR3

Here is a 775 board DDR2

and here is a board so old it has an AGP

The only board I could find that didn't have an isolated PCB was this mini itx 775 board

(sorry for the blurry pictures, its hard to snap a pic while holding a motherboard up to a light)

I write this because ALL mother boards have this feature and its confusing the audience of computer hardware enthusiasts.

Haha, I have an OEM Dell motherboard that has a separated PCB.

And to be honest, the "audio-grade caps" they are pushing really aren't anything special at all. Electrolytics are actually pretty shitty for audio in general if they are in the direct path of the signal, film caps are much higher regarded. Same with op-amps, some "audiophile" op-amps really aren't anything special and even cheap op-amps do a pretty damn good job.
