PS4 emulator?

Does anyone know of an emulator for a PS4? My girlfriend can either buy a gaming PC or a PS4. However not getting some PS4 exclusives is a deal breaker so PC gaming does not look likely. Anything that can be done?

there isnt even a PS3 emulator working let alone a PS4...

There aren't even any working 360 or PS3 emulators yet, so it'll be a long, long time before you're able to emulate the new consoles. Looks like it'll be a PS4 for your lady.

Then she should get a PS4.

PS3 emulators might kinda work well enough in 2020, but there isnt even a major project to emulate ps4 that I know of. While the core hardware of the ps4 is not as different from a regular pc as a ps3 it is also not just a gaming pc with a reskinned linux OS. Hardware wise the ps4 is an O.K. entry level gaming pc which makes it magnitudes stronger than a Wii (which is already challenging to emulate), even if we had the software you wouldnt be able to play PS4 games with your run of the mill i5 quadcore.

no idea if it works or not

No.

We just, in the last couple years, got the software and CPUs powerful enough to run most PS2 games in an emulator. Gran Turismo 4 is still nowhere near playable, simply because of the CPU power you would need. It'll be a few years at least before anything useful can be done with a PS3 emulator. PS4 emulation isn't even on the radar.

In a nutshell, no not anytime soon.

I mean I know it is personal choice and I'm not gonna criticize you for making that choice (I myself have a PS4 and a PC as well as a lot of other consoles. I don't believe in the only PC gaming thing. It is stupid.), but I really don't know of any exclusives for the PS4 that would justify spending the money on it.

I mean really there aren't many games out for it and the exclusives aren't particularly good anyway. I wouldn't lay out $400 on a console to get one or two games. I can afford a PS4 and a gaming PC. But if I had to chose I'd go PC all day.

To answer your question though, no. No emulation for a PS4 and probably never will be.

Why? There are more PC exclusives than PS3/PS4/Xbox 360/Xbox One exclusives combined. So why would she want a PS4?

Get her a PC now and a PS4 when the price drops. There are no PS4 exclusives good enough to justify a console purchase at this point or even a year from now. Even MGS V is coming to the PC for crying out loud.

Don't criticize someone like that, please. Just because you don't think there's an exclusive good enough, doesn't mean she thinks the same way. If she wants to play PS4 exclusive games right now, then she should get a PS4. She can get a PC at a later date.

Haha are you joking? Try again in about a decade. You need a PC about 5 times as powerful to emulate something in software.
As for the decision, depends which games you don't mind missing out on. PC has lots of great indie games. PS4 has a lot of great AAA exclusives. If you need a PC for other reasons, go with that. Otherwise PS4 (cheaper too)
