ps3 hacks

Hey guys,

I've got an old ps3 that I don't use anymore because the disc reader broke. I couldn't get it fixed because I didn't  have the money. Is there anything I can do with it? If the version matters its a ps3 fat 40 GB updated to the latest version.

You would need a flasher to to downgrade the firmware to 3.55. Form there you can do what you like. but fully updated it is locked.

Fix the disk reader , if i remember right it uses basic laptop disc readers , but I'm not sure.

I took a old ps3 appart , but that was 2 years ago .

Its sad that I need to downgrade the firmware to do everything U could. so I will  look up how to repair the disk reader by myself.

if i remember right it uses basic laptop disc readers

It uses a specialized blu-ray drive.
