PS/2 keyboard connectivity issues

Hi folks, So I just received a CM Storm QFR, I have to admit, I blindly bought this keyboard without knowing what key type I like, only assuming with what knowledge I had, that I would like the blue switches. I was in luck and am very impressed with the build quality of this board over lesser boards. I do not have a problem with the "loud" nature of the blue switches at all. However there is one thing. The PS/2 adapter does not function. I plugged it in, nothing, I restarted the system thinking that may be required. nothing. Has anyone else had this issue? And if so, what was the fix?
Thanks guys!

Try update to update the bios of your motherboard maybe? Does it works by usb and don't work when using the adapter? Then maybe the adapter is faulty. In my case, my QFR that I received 3 days ago works just fine with the PS/2.

A PS/2 port often needs to be plugged in before the computer boots. You could always open the keyboard and look for traces of magic smoke. If it is broken then RMA the thing.

Yeah, It works on USB just fine. CM is sending a new adapter. We will see. however I have not tried plugging in from cold boot, only plugging in then reboot. It is worth a shot and free. so thanks. I also have the lastest BIOS for my board (ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 BIOS 2501) so Unless there is a beta coming (doubtful for AM3+) I have the latest available.

Okay, for those of you looking for a fix for keyboards having issues with PS/2 connectivity. My particular motherboard (ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0) has one PS/2 port that can be used for mouse or keyboard. In my case, It required plugging the PS/2 into the machine FROM A COLD STATE; Plugging in and rebooting did not work. It may work for you, but if it is not, try turning off the machine and plugging in the PS/2. For those unaware PS/2 allows full NKRO whereas some USB bound boards will only allow a set number of keys. I would like to thank @PoisonGryphon for the advice and hope it helps others int he future. I will be renaming this post to better come up in searches for those looking for a fix for a similar problem.

Thanks guys!
