Proper 128gb Memory Kit for 2950x and ROG Zenith Extreme

Hello again L1,

I’ve been doing some reading and found that getting high speeds with more memory (32gb and above) gets more difficult due to some timing related stuff (highly technical, and much smarter people might explain this better)

I’m wanting to find the best 128gb kit to pair with my 2950x and a ROG Zenith Extreme.

I’ve found a kit ‘Corsair - Vengeance RGB 128 GB (8 x 16 GB) DDR4-3800 Memory’ but I’m not sure if this is the most cost effective as getting 3800 on all the dimms sounds nearly impossible based on the reading that I’ve done because of how many sticks I have.

I’m not that technical when it comes to memory speeds and how it interfaces with other gear… what are your thoughts, I feel like I can use this ram but not at it’s full speed. Is there another kit that you would recommend that could get the most performance?

ECC perhaps?

This workstation will be used for coding and Machine learning applications. Nothing production.

Thanks,
– Geep
