Starting my first serious, total case mod. The victim is an Antec 300. The exterior is getting painted white while the interior is most likely going to be either color shifting green or some type of metallic blue. All the wires will be getting individually sleeved in a yet to be decided color. I'm also going to be putting two 140mm fans in the top for exhaust. The power button will be replaced with a fighter pilot switch. The CCFLs will also be controlled by a separate fighter pilot style switch. The side panel is getting a humongous acrylic window mod.
I recieved the case today from UPS and immediately got to work cutting out the extra 140mm fan hole. Printed out a 2x140mm radiator template, taped off the top of the case, and traced the outline with a sharpie.Â
After I cut out the second 140mm fan hole I noticed a problem. The 5.25" cages don't leave enough room between the top of the case and themselves to permit a 140mm fan to squeeze in.Â
I'm going to have to cut out the top 5.25" bay, but no biggie...I only need 2 5.25" bays anyways. To access the 5.25" drive bays I need to de-rivet the case but, I'm absent a drill to do so since my drill decided to end it's life in a fiery death last night. Off to my local hardware store to pickup a corded drill.Â
More updates to come in the near future.
Holy shitty project name batman!
Nice just change the project name
secondly fighter pilot switches are cheesey as fuck but yah half this mod was my idea dont ruin it :p
Now we shall discuss this on steam!!!!!
Maybe some LED vandal switches then? Â Everything is still up in the air really. Â I am definitely replacing the power switch and adding a switch for CCFLs though.

Delete your RTW account. Everyone would be happy if we never had to see your disgusting user name again.

No, this isnt the project you and your dad did.
This
LOLED.
fucking lol
you sir are winrar
back on topic that sounds really cool
Since I'm still absent a drill I decided to get to work stealthing the DVD drive.
First thing I had to do was cut off the side tabs of the 5.25" bezel.
Alright, I found my real camera...no more cruddy quality cellphone camera pictures anymore!
After some quality time with my dremel the bezel is looking pretty flat. You can see where I got a little too close to the backside of the bezel with the cut-off wheel but that part of the bezel will be attached to the DVD drive tray so no one will see it anyways.
When I go to the hardware store later today I will pick up some metal files as well as a drill and get to filing down the bezel to give it a more uniform line.  Â
Thanks for looking...more updates in the near future!
That's super sick i wanna go mod my case now
i had cut apart a digital clock and was gonna mount it on my case but i cut the clock wrong and i messed up the battery and the connecting wires so i just gave up
Yup...my biggest fear for this project is botching the paint job. Â Painting the case is basically one of the last serious steps in this mod and if the paint job is less than perfect all of my modding will be for nothing.
Possibly one of the greatest comments on rtw in a very long time
Agreed. Also cant wait to see the final result, keep up the good work.

Picked up a few goodies from Home Depot. Some metal files, grinding heads for the dremel, some rivets, and a new drill.
I de-riveted the top of the case using the new drill.
And this is the next part of the project. De-riveting the 5.25" bays and cutting off the top 5.25" bay completely in order to make room for the extra 140mm exhaust fan.
project douchebag post by douchebag who acts douchebaggy, and probably sags his pants to the floor in wal mart whilst sucking children penis in the young mens section.
