Project Box Suggestions and Protecting Circuit Boards from Vibration in Vehicles

Hey all,

I've been asked to build a non-critical device for a tractor - if it fails, no big deal, but I would rather it didn't.

I'm looking for decent, cheap methods of mounting a pcb and arduino to a project box and then said box to a vehicle.  In particular, I'm searching for a way to protect the components from the vibration of the vehicle and the bumps and jolts encountered when driving over rough terrain.

I haven't found a good project box yet either.  I'm looking in the 10" x 5" x 4" (L x H x D) range, and once again, cheap but durable.  I have to also be able to make a hole of sorts in it for a 4-segment LED display.

I'd like to keep the combined cost below $20.

Anyone have good experience with particular products?  Suggestions?

you should only have to worry about the moving parts as modern SD cards (which i assume you will use for storage) can stand up to 500g's of shock.

use silicon ! :) ! awesome stuff for making electronics tougher .
