Productivity PC

Hi. My dad's colleauge needs a new pc, and he has to present a few options to him. One option I suggested is an NCIX-built custom pc. I've been toying with part lists but need some input. My budget is 550$ and I need a partlist that includes a 120gb SSD, 8gb of ram and an Intel (absolutely no AMD) core i5 processor with a mildly attractive and plain case. mATX form factor is ideal, I'd like it to be smaller than or similar to a prebuilt tower. I am canadian, and obviously prefer NCIX (although they will pricematch other canadian retailers). I do require an OS, but not peripherals.

This is about as good as it can get at that budget... (everything's right next to as cheap as possible after the OS, CPU, and SSD) Windows 8 will auto update to 8.1

So long as he doesn't need a GPU, doesn't plan on overclocking, and wasn't looking for anything BUT the 120GB SSD for storage.... then that meets all the specs...

you could get a 6 core AMD FX processor that's a little more powerful than the mid-range i5 for $80 less and add a HDD or 1GB DDR5 7750 GPU...

Only issue is idk if ncix carries all these components.

If you can find a similar products at NCIX that would be a great office pc I think.  You could even go for an i3 too

this would work too.  Motherboard has hdmi, dvi, vga outs for what ever he needs and everything else you requested.  If you cant get it at ncix why not just order it?

yea i wasn't recommending the PSU at all... I was trying to fit it into a $550 budget haha

I tried :/
