Hello i'm trying to upgrade my Pentium 4 single core 2.20 GHz socket 478 CPU to something that is hopefully dual core or better. My psu is 250 watts of power with 3.3V/14Amps and 12V/10Amps. I am willing to spend up to $50 on my new cpu. If find it online will you please give me the link.
They dont make dual cores for pga 478 from what i find. Your best luck would be a socket am1 or early 775.
You could try and find one of those 478 p4 extreme edition cpu's but at the end of the day it'll be a waste as to be honest $50 could get you an old dual core 775 rig. Just hunt around.
I use this for gaming mostly. Just need something cheap to last me until i get my new rig.
