Hi guys,
Before I begin, I have the latest version of Manjaro Linux on my system at the time of this post. With the latest non-experimental kernel installed.
I have a Bluetooth adapter for my system and it works in Manjaro, however, with my true wireless earbuds, I am unable to get them to work as a headset, as there is no recording option in sound for the mic and only seems to work as headphones.
I have looked around google and some articles suggest to change the audio profile, one program that can do this is Blueman. But upon trying to switch the audio profile it keeps saying failed ( I can’t remember the exact wording)
What are your suggestions?
You are going to need to give actual specifics if you us want help. Error messages, resource you used, and etc.
For example, what version of bluetooth is your adaptor?

The adapter and wireless earbuds work perfectly fine in windows, so I know it is not a hardware issue.
I am using the Enacfire E60 Bluetooth version 5
I am using a Bluetooth USB adapter, unfortunately, I do not know all the details about the adapter as there is little information about it.
When I open “audio volume settings” and go to “Audio” then the “Advanced” tab. The earbuds are listed there, But only the AD2P Sink profile is available, which would explain I can not use them in Headset mode.
If I use Blueman it gives me the extra profile options like A2DP Source and HSP/HFP but I get the following error message.
“Failed to change profile to a2dp_source”
or
“Failed to change profile to headset_head_unit”
Ok. Now we have a baseline to work with. It is highly likely that the BT Module does not have proper support in the Linux kernel if it is a cheap knock off brand.
So, if you run a lsusb --verbose to get a full dump of all attached usb devices. May need to sudo or run this as root for an accurate output.
Then run a lsmod to see which modules are loaded. Again, may have to run this as root or use sudo.
Lastly, run a group to see what groups you belong to. If I am not mistaken, you need to be part of the lp group. You may also need to add the pulse service account to the lp group as well. And since you are running Manjaro, also make sure to install the pulseaudio-bluetooth package with packman.

Looks all good and well. I would suggest running a group pulse to see if the pulse user is part of the lp group. if it is not, then add it. Also verify that you have the pulseaudio-bluetooth package installed.
