Problems installing motherboards

I’m a first-time computer builder. I am having difficulty installing a MSI MAG B650 Gaming motherboard in a SilverStone Fara R1 Pro V2. Following the printed directions I put the motherboard faceplate into the back of the SilverStone case and inserted the motherboard. I had a hard time getting the holes in the motherboard to line-up with the holes in the case. I didn’t notice for a while that there are two sizes of screws.

Now I can’t get the motherboard out of the case. The screws spin, but won’t come out of their holes.

I’d appreciate any help, mates.

Cheers, Mike

I assume you´d probably used screws with the wrong thread.
Did you check if the actual motherboard standoffs are installed,
in the right locations inside the case that match your motherboard holes?

Hi Mystery. You’re probably right. Such a newbie mistake. I did find earlier that there are more holes in the motherboard than in the case. If I can get the motherboard out, I can remove the screws. I think I’m having problems removing the motherboard because the faceplate got a little warped. Or perhaps one of the holes in the faceplate.

you’re unscrewing the standoff under the motherboard
You’re gonna have to take out all the screws you can first then unscrew the standoffs from the case the way you are doing and take them with the motherboard

I think I’ve tried removing all the screws, but will do so again.

You ever get this resolved?

I did, thanks. Not wanting to break the motherboard, I took it to the shop where I had bought it. The guy got it unstuck in about 10 minutes. Better safe than sorry. Lol.
