Problem (?) with Thinkpad E595

I just bought a new Thinkpad E595 with an AMD 3700U.

The specs say that it is 2.3 MHz base and 4.0 GHz boost. And mine is actually running at 1.3 and 2.3GHz base/boost.

Anyone else have this problem on their Levnovo?

It appears to be limited by the BIOS/UEFI. Can it be changed from within Linux? If yes, where and how?

Or am I stuck with a laptop that runs slower then the 10 year old one that I replaced it with ( Core2 Duo HT from Intel )?

Anyone?

What distro? How are you loading the machine up? How are you checking CPU speed?

It’s unlikely that its slower than a c2d.
