my friend installed a 7950 and downloaded the drivers, its was working fine then it told him to reboot so he did and he just has a black screen now and nothing else.
he rebooted and there wear 6 long beeps he said!?
I would try doing a CMOS flash. then Try removing the card and running the system off of the on board video uninstall the drivers and re-install them to see if there was an error with the way that they installed.
anyone else?
I have been battling this most of the weekend after adding a second 7950 to my system here is what I have learned and done. This is known as KSOD or black screen of death some say its malware others say its a broken registry. After turning on my pc I spam f5 and enter windows recovery, then restore to a restore point before the driver update. Once booted I then updated my Malwarebytes program and ran a full scan. It found 6 "bugs", killed them. re-installed the 13.9 drivers then ran CCleaner. Its been ok last night and so far today. Fingers crossed this holds or I will be reinstalling Windows 7 I guess.
