Problem with EOL Ubiquiti AirCams & NVR

Small business, original Ubiquiti AirCams and matching NVR. The camera portal on the NVR has started crashing regularly, with the only working solution being a factory reset every time it happens (multiple times per month now). Apparently this is a known issue with this version of the NVR firmware. The official solution is to upgrade. Only problem is, newer versions of the firmware don’t support the EOL AimCams. Anyone else run into this? Anyone know if one can load different NVR software on the Ubiquiti NVR hardware? Or should I just start downgrading to previous versions of the Ubiquiti firmware until I find one that doesn’t crash?

I have no idea however @DeusQain might know.

What version of the software you currently running?

Apologies, have been offline, running the gauntlet with le GF’s parents, for the last 3 days :no_mouth:

When factory reset the NVR runs 2.something; the only version currently available for download from Ubiquiit is 3.1.5. Also, the NVR will no longer factory reset or reboot (via hardware button, web GUI, or CLI). At this point I’m thinking it’s toast, unless someone can point me to a download for a firmware version other than 3.1.5?..

Not sure if this is a viable solution for you, but DVR software like Xeoma or ZoneMinder can pick up a wide range of IP cameras… I haven’t tried this with any Ubiquiti cameras, but it has surprised me with what it’ll pick up in the past (Xeoma specifically).

I found a passing reference to the original AirCams supporting RTSP and thus being compatible with ZoneMinder.

Unfortunately not an option in this situation. If I can’t come up with a fix for the existing NVR, they’ll probably either replace the NVR or the cameras. I’m leaning toward the NVR, since that’s what’s broken…

edit
Power outage while I was gone, now the NVR is able to factory reset. I have done so, and it’s running again. We’ll see how long it stays running this time…
