Problem with Chrome's cookie functionality

I just recently got this error message and was hoping somebody could help out.

When I try to log into my google/gmail account I get screen that reads "Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it on. [?]" So I go to my setting and the cookie setting is enabled. Try, same thing. Clear my cache, try again, same thing. Uninstall chrome. Reinstall, try, same thing. Install firefox, Same. Fucking. Thing.

I looked through all of my settings and allowed cookies, removed all exceptions. I don't see ANY reason for this error. I sincerely hope somebody else has had this problem because I might put my fist through my monitor.

had something similar with my Yahoo account but clearing all the history in chrome fixed it .

Tried that also. Nothing seems to work and the fact that it happened accross 2 browsers is very interesting. Anybody know of any programs that interfere with cookie functionality?
