Problem installing Lubuntu 16.10 32bit

Link to video of the problem

Hi everyone my name is Graz, and I'm having some problems installing Lubuntu on an old Dell Dimension 4550. I can boot from the DVD just fine, but when I try to install it it shows a message saying,

"The current input timing is not supporting by the monitor display. Please change your input timing to 1920x1080@60Hz or any other monitor listed as per the monitor specifications."

Now I really don't understand why it's saying that my monitor isn't capable of 1920x1080@60Hz when it is. Hoping there is a way I could possibly change the resolution through the terminal somehow?

Thanks

why 32bit? my 4200 had a 64 bit cpu in it

try selecting try lubuntu with out installing and install that way. ubuntu has had some trouble in the past with installing straight that way.

also get rid of the spash and quiet boot options

I tried to install it with a 64 bit iso, and it said that the Kernal wasn't supported by 64 bit. Imma try what you suggested and see what happens.

Thanks

strange. you can still use more than 4gb of ram with 32bit so you dont lose anything that way. just cant run 64bit programs

Alright I attempted the option, "try without installing" and it still gave me the same message about input timing.

2nd on the googles

That would work if I were trying to boot into windows, but I'm trying to boot into the Lubuntu setup.

Thanks though.

Graz,
Please read that link one more time. The article is suggesting that you change a setting in the BIOS and therefore should not be a Windows specific fix. Does your BIOS have this VGA setting available?

Why 16.10 probably should try 16.04 lts model it would be more stable.

something is not right here... That is a 64-bit cpu.
