Update 12/22 - Somethings wrong, cant access webpages or anything else when vpn is connected. Will post what happens next.
So after my last attempt at buying vpn service from these guys i was left pretty angry. But seeing as I had a $15 giftcard to a store with nothing I want/need I chose to give them a chance. In exchange for the giftcard I now have 58 days of service on what is so far a very exelent vpn. So far its working pertty well and has only bumped up my ping about 20ms. My last rant aside, private internet acess seems to be an exelent vpn service at a reasonable rate. I suppose I owe it to teksyndicate for referring me to it. Its next test will be seeing how it handles my massive amount of p2p traffic.
Very great service...just make sure to disable it when you play games. It does have a shit ton of latency. Sometimes i use it so much that i forget that it's on and i get into games with massive lag. hehe.
You're lucky, you must be very close to one of the proxy servers on their listings. I'm in vegas and the best proxy server i connect to is located in Texas, the one in california has a latency of 800ms while texas is 310ms.
I accidentally leave it on all the time while playing games and it only adds about 10ms where I am, but it can add a lot more to the ping depending upon where you are located and what server you are on.
Adds 180ms to my ping and drops my download speed to 3mbit compared to no vpn of 12mbit. However it is traveling over an entire ocean and half another country so what do you expect. Would love an oceana server from them
