Private internet access VPN issue

Hello,

After seeing the video on the VPN that recommended the Private internet access service I thought it was worth a go and signed up. After installing the software the first thing I did was to do a speed test which resulted in a huge speed increase, I was VERY happy!

But then I tried to download a file and only achieved my usual slow speed.....I then tried youtube and had to wait for buffering as usual.

What is the reason for the speedtest.net site to show my speed being 5 times faster but in reality it's exactly the same?

Anyone have any idea if I am doing something wrong?

speedtest.net doesn't work well with vpns. Try testmy.net

Your internet speed will always decrease with a vpn but if the isp is throttling or letting traffic congest, it can bypass that.
