I learnt a lot from tek syndicate about staying more secure online, but recently I stumbled upon a website that had insane amounts of data collected from people's facebook pages - profileengine.com
After a google search I then found deleteprofileengine.com and read up on the situation.
1) Is there really nothing that can be done about this? How do we prevent it in future?
2) What are some of the alternatives to use rather than facebook / skype?
(I am studying abroad but want to keep in touch with family & friends, not all of whom would be willing to sign up to new services)
3) Also, what are your suggestions for the best secure e-mail provider?
For an alternative to dropbox I found tresorit, pretty sure Logan recommended it in one of the videos.
Side note: In order to even 'delete' my facebook account I remember having to manually delete each and every single tag and post, and even then, facebook would only 'deactivate' the account.
