Privacy Caucus and Data Mining

I just read an article on the washington posts site about how the Congressional Bipartisan Privacy Caucus is pressuring Data Mining companies to give up details about how they aquire, analyze and package data from consumers.

1) I didn't know there was a Privacy Caucus (they must be very good  keeping things private)

2) Do you think this kind of pressure on Data Miners is going to help Online Privacy or is it just going to normalize their practices?

Here is the   Washington Post Article

Well im wondering who is going to want to sit through an oracle technical explaination anyway lol. We have been quite nonchalant as to what they do with our data anyway i dont think thats ever going to change. Ive grown a little more comfortable with advertisers using IP adresses, history ect for my whereabouts to the point it doesnt phase me.
