Printer not showing up

I've installed a 64 bit driver for it, hoping it would work, but it didn't.

Specs:

  • Canon iP900 (usb printer)
  • Windows 8 64 bit
  • Google Drive as an input

How old is the printer? What OS was its install disc originally made for. I've had trouble with some older machines not working right with windows 8.

Ok, Well I just realised to change the destination to my printer, but now it won't respond, as in an error state whenever I try print.

I'm sure it's designed for XP/Vista and 7. The printer is only about 2 years old..
