Presentation computer

I have a friend that wants a computer for doing home business presentations and streaming videos. He wants it to be in a mini ITX form factor that can be hidden and wants to keep the cost at about $350. I was thinking about going with an amd apu build. What are your suggestions?

I saw that build and its great but that doesnt answer for the MINI ITX form factor issue.

The motherboard is micro atx. and the power supply is atx. Just look for a case that supports it. I think the case Wendell reviewed a while back supports a full size PSU. The Xigmatek Aquila I belive it was should fit those components. I think.

FM2 mITX boards exist. Just grab a mITX board instead of the µATX one.

Hint for presentations: the LibreOffice Impress app on Android, works great and fast, great help for those presentations. It's of course free and open source, no stupid permissions, no ads, just does what it's supposed to do.

If you're looking for a case I would suggest checking out this vid from Linus about the EVGA Hadron, I think Logan did a review too but I can't seem to find it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3q14IqzQz8

Thanks for all the help.

Could anyone recommend a good pointer that he could use for the slideshows and to also pull up videos from youtube without having to use a keyboard?

That's like a $200 case (and power supply) so not exactly good for a $350 budget.

This, it's known as the Elder Wand. If you're looking for something more affordable maybe try Olivanders?

My apologies. I just couldn't resist. It's 4:24am

welcome to the land of ITX. getting stuff that compact is expensive.

unless you need to show it on Microsoft Power Point. it fucks up the word-wrap. I did that just today...

you can go with the mATX mobo, but put it in the silverstone sugo SC09 case. i've seen it IRL, and it's about as small as you can go, without the expense of ITX.

self-executing slideshow, but the chance of having to use a computer that doesn't belong to me is very slim, and if it happens, I always carry a USB stick with my own operating system.

the word warp thing is also a smaller problem between libreoffice and MS-office than between MS-Office iterations. The worst thing is to have a powerpoint presentation made with MS-Office 2010 and newer and not being able to even open it with MS-Office 2007 or earlier. Most companies that still use MS-Office, use version 2003 because it was the last usable version, the export as 2003 MS-Office document feature works better in libreoffice than it does in newer MS-Office versions. After MS-Office 2003, MS-Office has been all over the place, very annoying, ever slower performing, ever less efficient GUI, ever more clutter, ever less compatibility, etc...
