Pre-made Gaming Build

Hello to everyone! I searched on the forum before posting, but still have some doubts regarding my specific case. I've never built or had a gaming pc before, but an opportunity has come up and wanted to get some advice after noticing the support given here.

The build would be this one http://pcpartpicker.com/p/E9XH

What I need to know is:

1) Should I buy it for the $1500 my coworker offered and keep it the same

or

2) Should I buy and change components (which would be my introduction to pc building, sort of)

All advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Your link is broken.

After pasting the link, delete "What" at the end... just noticed, sorry

If your coworker offers you this http://pcpartpicker.com/p/E9XH for 1500, you buy it at once! On pcpartpicker it cost 2500, Jesus he's giving you an amazing deal.

Thank you

How long would it take for that build to need upgrades if any?

Years, 5 minimum. An i7 will last you a really long time and the only thing then that would need replacement are the graphics cards, which have a ton of life in them. My jaw really dropped when I saw this.

Thank you Foxy, I appreciate the help

If I had to make a second build like this for the full $2500, is it worth it? A friend of mine can afford it and wants to know if anything comparable (gaming performance) can be built for less (no budget limit)

You don't need to spend 2500 to get a good gaming machine. Average price for a top of the line gaming pc is around 1500. I'll link my current system which should be more than enough for current games. If he wants he can add another 7950 graphics card. My build includes everything necessary except a monitor.

It is a pretty good option. Could use the remaining for monitor and games.

Thank you for all the help Foxy

Happy to help :)

the upgrade time question, depends, if you care about games like guildwars2 where you would need a 6-8ghz tricore to remove the cpu bottleneck :P

Well, didn't even consider GW2 as this will be my first time into pc gaming, but so far I think I will be more of a disc game player until I get to know more of online MMOs and such.

Thank you for the tiip AshenTech
