I know you always encourage viewers build your own computer and I do as well. however I have decided to start up a computer building company (I know so original) and my main goal is to get rid of the pre-build problems associated with system building companies. So my question is what do you thing system builders could do differently to be more enticing to people that know how to build computers but don't want to build there own computer or to anyone else while your at it.
Thanks
oh and for some shamelessness here is my website(not finished yet) gibicomputers.com
PLEASE LET ME CUSTOMISE FULLY , stop with the dumb "tier" system , where you only get to customize the hdd ; and are locked in to the cpu and case .
That's it , if I got to customize pc's fully , case , hdd , psu , ram , mobo , OS , and the assembly would only be like 45€ then I would recommend it for config's for family and friends , instead of them trusting me and me risking to F*** up .
I also agree to get rid of the "tier" system, allow customers to mix and match to their hearts content but be informative about what each part is and how it would affect overall system performance.
And my advice: DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON THE POWER SUPPLY. Whatever you do, don't OEM to some no name brand because a bad power supply can singlehandedly take out every single component that's connected to it. If you can try to get an OEM deal with Seasonic, FSP, or Superflower. Better power supplies can also equal less returns of the "won't power on" variety.
But that's IRRITATING , you can't get the prices on the moment , and that's already done , I'm comparing with some known sites ( caseking , LDLC , cyber power , etc ) .
If you're looking to sell to companies ( what you're implying is that he will sell to buissnesses , and dell is going to wreck you if you try going into their territory .
So sell to individuals , the margins are better.
The problem with "tiers" is that I want to , eg: my bro get his i7 machine and everything else , but not the GPU , because I already have a 290 for him .
No site lets me get rid of the gpu , and have the rest of the pc not be shit .
But as I said , selling to businesses is almost useless, they buy either low power pc's ( no margin ) or the rare company that need power get's either a dell because of the price ( butt there you can offer better value , but then mass production becomes a problem for one person / a group ) .
