Powershell scripts cpu usage on SBS 2011

Hi, I’m running a somewhat older server here with SBS 2011 and Exchange 2010.

Now lately I’m constantly seeings powershell running in the background with high cpu usage.

They appear to be temp/random ps1 files, so I’m guessing this has something to do with Exchange.

Does anyone have any idead as to what this is doing and/or why the cpu usage would be this high?

Powershell is a CPU pig.

What makes you think they are exchange though? Can you say open up resource monitor and see what files they have open?

I’m not sure why I said Exchange, I think my mind was confusing .pst with .ps1. Anyhow I did check the resource monitor: files.txt (12.7 KB)

These are the files that are listed, coincidentally It does appear to be Exchange.

To clarify my first post. These processes run from 10-30sec each or somehwere around that. Then almost immediately the next one starts.

I feel like it might have something to do with users accessing their mailbox or whatever…

The server does only have 8GB RAM as well, which we’re going to upgrade to 16GB soon.
