Power Supply Questions

Hey I plan on building a PC soon and am picking out my power supply, my specks are below
Cpu- fx 8350
Cooler- hyper 213
Mobo- Asus m5a99fx pro r2
HD- Western Digital 7200rpm Caveiar Blue
GPU- r9 290 XFX Double Dissipation

I'm wondering will a Corsair CX 750w 80+ bronze be enough to power this? Thanks.

Yes it will be enough, but you can get a much higher quality PSU for a bit more. Do you have an upper limit of how much you want to spend on the PSU?

I don't plan on upgraging for a while, so if this PSU is enough I would prefer to stay with it. Ive looked at other options such as the EVGA but I'd rather put the savings toward another component.

Getting a good power supply is a very vital and important part of your build. Corsair is a good way to go and I think 750w will be perfectly fine for your build, just look into the reviews and ratings of that particular power supply and you will be fine :)

Skimping on power supply is like trying to get fit while having heart conditions. It can implode and take your whole build with it if it's not good.

With Corsair, it depends on the product line. I wouldn't recommend any of the CX models. Seasonics are a great choice. Super Flower used to be good but last I heard they started to skimp on some components after getting popular.

Jonnyguru is a good review site for PSUs, they actually disassemble them and inspect the components, soldering quality and everything.

I thought Corsair was just a rebrand of Seasonic, but I will check him out

Some of them use lower quality components. That's why I said it depends on the product line, for example the AX series should be good. And I'm not sure that they're really a "rebrand", Seasonic just manufactures them, at least the high end ones. I mean, rebrand would imply that Seasonic sells the exact same ones under their own brand.

Go with XFX they use seasonic they are the brand i always buy never had issues. they are very well ranked in the powersupply market.
