Power Supply Needed

Hopefully this is in the correct section sice the PSU doesn't have a dedicated section.

Anyways. I currently have a Corsair GS 700 watt power supply, and I'm pretty sure its got a faulty fan. I'm not familiar with how often the fan is supposed to spin, but it seems to get stuck and it makes an annoying noise when it does. I'll talk to Corsair support when I can about it. But right now, I need to get a new power supply ASAP.

I'm looking for a modular supply, 80 Plus Bronze or above, 800 watts and I'd really like some suggestions.

I'd like to keep the cost below $170. I understand that paying prime dollars for a good power supply is a good way to go, but I'm a college student and I need to save money wherever I can.

Thanks in advance!

You can replace the PSU fan you know, and saveyourself some money if its otherwise fine.

Just link your PC specs, Perhaps you dont even need a 800W one.

Anything from Corsair or Seasonic will do. haven't used other manufacturers, but if they are in the same pricerange, they are propably just fine aswell.

Just make sure its the modular version.

I believe seasonic makes XFX power supplies, so you know you're getting quality.

I don't have the expertise or the time to invest in learning how to fix the fan myself. As for my specs:

  • Intel i5-3570K
  • ASRock Z77 Extreme 4
  • Corsair H60
  • Mushkin Redline Enhanced 2x4gb
  • Kingston HyperX K3 120gb SSD
  • Seagate Barracuda 2tb 7200rpm HDD
  • Asus DirectCU II GTX 680 2gb

I know I don't need that amount of power currently, but I want to have the option of easy upgrades to multi gpu set ups in the future.

Get a 750W Lepa G or Seasonic X. Would support you for 680 2GB SLI, with OCing.
