Power supply for a Threadripper Pro build with ASUS Sage II

Hi,

I am building a Threadripper Pro Workstation (5975) that will have one NVIDIA A6000 (a second one is probable but not just now) and I am unsure about which power supply is appropriate. I am buying a 1200 or 1600 W quality PSU but I am stuck on what connectors are needed both for the GPUs and the motherboard.

Anyone knows what would be a good candidate that has enough connectors for themother board and, at least, one GPU?

This rig will have lengthy runs at full tilt for a few days at a time every other week or so.

Thanks!

i have had nothing but great experiences with EVGA’s SuperNova series. even when running near capacity for hours on-end.

I use a Seasonic Prime TX 1600, I’m very pleased with it.

Likewise! And if you have 240V on tap, there’s the 2000W version I got in Oz for driving 3 x 3090 Ti on my ASUS WRX80E Pro: EVGA SuperNOVA 2000 G1+ 2000W

You need several (3 I think) 8-pin power connectors for the motherboard alone. I use a SuperFlower 1600W psu for this board which gives me enough power connectors for the motherboard, leaving 6x 8-pin connectors left over for GPUs

Thanks, does it have 3x8 pin connectors for the motherboard plus 2 PCIe 8 pin connectors for the GPU?

the 3rd connector for the motherboard is a pcie, not eps.
I’m using 2 gpus with it, so you should be fine.

It also comes with 2 12vhpwr cables.
