I've never been able to take my CPU past 3Ghz (2.66 Stock) thanks to my POS ECS motherboard. But I've overclocked my graphics card quite well before

(didn't bother to overclock the GPU cuz it doesn't do anything cuz of my CPU and RAM)
(I see gains in low CPU usage games, but games that demand more CPU power kill me)

alright since this is being brought back from the dead.. this is my latest 3.0ghz overclock now that i'm back on my gigabyte p45 ud3p mobo: (was running prime 95 for almost 8 hours overnight)

i havent OC'd yet, but im still in the "burn in" (i know it doesnt technically "burn in" but thats what the terminology is) period for my thermal paste.
but here are my non-OC temps for idle:

thats with an XFX GTX 260 Black Edition and an Intel Q6600, CPU heatsink is an Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. my case has 4 80mm intake fans (1 front 3 side) and one 120mm exhaust fan. i guess the power supply and gpu fans help too but im not sure if im supposed to count those. but if i did it makes it 8 fans in my case.
i plan to eventually OC the Q6600 to 3.0

That's on an EVGA 780i FTW motherboard with 4gb of OCZ Reaper dual channel RAM running at a hair under 1150Mhz, an Ultra X3 1000W modular PSU, WD 300gb VelociRaptor 10k HDD, and about 2TB of external storage. I got a 2ghz celeron up to 3ghz without adjusting the voltage.
The Pc failed to install xp, but...
I'm afraid of OCing this e8400 chip....the sensor are fucked up, can't get good temps readings.
hell I get same temps reading with a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 CPU Cooler than with the stock cooler...:\
