Slap an ipxe on the SD and make them pxe-boot with root-on-nfs on your NAS.

I was thinking of doing something like this so that I could iterate them faster. At this point, I’m just trying to get it to boot consistently. It looks like the vendor took a lot of shortcut hacks to re-use work from their earlier products.

Did they fixed the problem with the SFP+ Intel cards prevent deeper sleep states? To me thats the biggest flaw of the MS-01. Not that it uses a lot of power but it could use less.

just an update. I do have a post in the build log on my X99 Dev Server Project . I did find a set of CPU’s for a Song. I could not resist. Got a set of E5 2699A V4 I am loving them.

I still have my E5 2698V4 all tucked away safe and sound. Do I want to build another one? hmmmm
