I got a new laptop this week. I decided to go with a framework and have been happy with it so far.
What is the device in the second photo?
Odroid M2 (as the screenshot shows), probably connected to a portable USB monitor. I’ve got an Odroid N2+. I didn’t know that M2 was released, I was only aware of the M1. An RK3588 board from Odroid? 8 - 16GB of RAM?
I’ll need to look into that, it might become my desktop, if it doesn’t draw too much juice and still has an m.2 slot. It looks like peak power is 8W and 2W for idle desktop usage. Dope!
Odroid M2 is very interesting device, very low power consumption.
BTW if you want power efficient m.2 SSD, look at the images in this article:
- Samsung 9100 Pro 2 TB Review - The Best Gen 5 SSD - Power Consumption & Efficiency | TechPowerUp
- there are measurements also in idle with ASPM enabled
- my favourite is Samsung 980 Pro. My whole Odroid H3 with Samsung 980 Pro 2TB has 1.8 ~ 2.1 W in idle
As ThatGuyB said, its an Odroid M2 with 16GB RAM connected to a super wide screen. Just got unofficial Armbian support a few days ago.
I have some plans for a device I want to make…
Playing around with Hyprland. I had forgotten just how nice tiling window managers are. This one happens to be very pretty on top of being functional.
that is a really nice wallpaper. Nixos 25.05 huh??? I didn’t think that was released until May…
I use NixOS unstable. Has been 25.05 for me since December
yeah I just updated my channel listings to unstable. just trying it out now.
Posting for my workstation. I built this workstation ~6 months ago and have been loving it ever since. I feel that it may be a little overkill for browsing the L1 forums.
