Guitar: Broken Squier Strat

Amp: Peavy Envoy 110

Recorded using Chromebook mic <.<

haha, that was actually kinda rad.

thanks :)

are you thinking of putting something up on here?

I might, but my amp buzzes worse then yours. I need to take it in but don't have the moneys.

I don't really have anything that is 1 minute long but I do have something I could put up here. It's a metal improv I did with a drum track I found on youtube. It's about 3min long. No practice or writing, just straight improv.

hmmmm.... sounds interesting. would love to hear it.

the buzz is actually the hum of my bridge single coil. it i move the selector up one (middle/bridge) it doesn't hum. perhaps ill set it to that for my next recording.

Ok, so it's more like 5min lol

I shall write one.

neato. what kind of amp was that? reminds me of my old Digitech. RP-100

That is a line-in connection to my PC. It's running through Guitar Rig which emulates numerous amps, cabs, and mics. It's a great program if you have a hub you can attach. Line-in requires ASIO drivers which completely hijack your audio card while in use. So not the best setup atm.

Also I have a crappy cable, my noise gate was cranked up to like -20db just to get the static cut out enough to not give me a headache.

i tried a FREE pc amp program. sounded great, but the lag was unbearable. it was like a 1 second delay XD. i will have to look up some programs when i build my pc in a few months.

yeah... i know about bad cables. had to replace a crappy coil cable (which sounded great, but was breaking). so i bought a Hosa cable on amazon.... this thing sounds crap. it sounds like the gain is at like 60%.

can't wait to get a new cable.

Here's me playing some made-up riff on my guitar. Try to copy this, also note the "twang" at 0:55 (I messed up lol).

neato :) i have listened to it a couple times. i don't know about copying it exactly, but i may try to build on a couple parts of it. we shall see ^_^

also, wanting to do another short recording. i have a few ideas, but im not sure what to do. neo-classical, perhaps black metal? idk @_@ i even wrote a little 80s style riff earlier lol

My riff sounded to me like a mix of melodic death metal, black metal, and metalcore. I've been listening to a lot of black metal recently. My guitar was tuned in D standard, by the way.

I have my recording advanced settings set to 1 channel, 16bit, 44100 hz and get almost no delay with a decent quality sound.

Someone likes metalcore bands. ;)

i will definitely have to try it out.

It was kinda rough for me to play my track because of my long hair (below shoulder length, and btw I'm a male). It keeps getting in my way and it distracts me from playing. I have long hair cuz its METAL! \m/

As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Killswitch Engage, Bullet for My Valentine (old), The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Bring Me The Horizon, Motionless In White, Avenged Sevenfold (old), and Trivium are by far the best metalcore bands. Darkest Hour, Heaven Shall Burn, etc. are Melodic Death Metal bands with a lot of metalcore elements.I listen to a lot of melodic death metal and symphonic black metal bands, and there are too many to list.
