It's supposed to be 20Mb/s

Gandu, is Virgin Media good? Everyone I know seems to like Virgin Media. One thing for sure, BT sucks.

I just took this test not too long ago.

Ping: 36ms

Download: 2.16 Mb/s

Upload: 0.43 Mb/s

ISP: AT&T

Provided that's on a wireless connection via a USB adapter since our puppy chewed through my 100 foot ethernet cable, but I've still been wanting my parents to get a new internet plan for a while, especially since my little brother and I will both be home during the summer and we both eat up a lot of bandwidth. The problem is that we really only have two legitimate ISPs in my hometown. One of them is AT&T which is cheaper, but the city won't allow them to install fiber optic cables for higher speeds. The other is Comcast, but they're really expensive since they basically have a monopoly on fiber optic cables.

Looks like they updated their website. Last time I did this their interface looked much different. This one looks better to me though lol.

My brother's computer got 15ms ping and 8.00Mb DL oddly...

@Boov, vm broadband is great. had no issues with them whatsoever. if you can afford it, get off dsl and get onto cable bb. even the lower packages are a vast improvement over internet through the telephone line imo

Well at least you're in Wales, lol. I'm in the US, near Chicago, and our internet is about the same as yours. My family can get a plan through Comcast at 15Mb/s, but it would be pretty expensive. Rural areas in the US have worse connections than we do. Some rural areas still use dial up connections or just don't have any internet access at all. The United States' infrastructure is a joke.

How much do you have to pay for your connection? My connection costs £20 per month (32$)

Isn't that quite a lot? It's got unlimited bandwidth though.

I'm actually not sure. I want to say it's probably about $30 per month...so about the same as you. Pretty sure if we got a 15mb/s connection from comcast that we'd be paying around $50-$60 per month.
