Post your CPU temps and overclock

That's really good for a bus clock on those old 6 core thubans.

Overclocked to 4.4 Ghz

Water cooled with Corsair H100i

Idle Temps: 25-29

Full Load : 65

What are your voltages? Been trying to get a feel for how high I can bump up ivy bridge without serious consequences.

Oh hey,

Yeah, Very high. I already have a loud setup but those corsair fans take the cake. My cooler is tasked to capacity.

Luckily I'm the kind of guy that doesnt care about that, and puts on noise canceling headphones.

If you are looking for a quiet setup, you should get a better cooler, or ease up on the clocks and volts. at 4.6Ghz and 1.46v (200x23) I could set the h80i on 'quiet mode', from that point it would be ALOT more quiet than the stock cooler.

Thanks, running RAM at very low speed tho to keep everyting stable 1100 MHz.

I have heard that the memory controller (on the cpu) only can handle 1333 MHz. Might just be rumors :)

Using a H212@100% fan speed(I can't notice a difference with my desk fan), it has an exhaust directly behind it so it's close to a push+pull config. Also has fresh air fed to it from a top mounted fan use above. Ambient is around 21-22C.

I've done some research into Thuban and they can achieve 1866 MHz speeds but you are limited on the density and how many RAM DIMMs you can use to get that kind of speed.

1.3v is what I've heard is the absolute maximum you should be going on Ivy Bridge without an extreme custom water cooling setup. The heat starts pouring out of the CPU once you pass the 1.3v threashold.

G.SKILL DDR3-1600 at stock rated speeds

Case: Some old CM POS with a meshy looking front and top.

Fans: Three case fans, in @ front over hard drive bay, in at side over GPU, and exhaust at rear top (PSU is on the bottom). All 120mm. Hyper 212 Evo with stock fan on the CPU

62°C @ steady state during Prime 95. Idle in the high 40's.

Shin Etsu thermal paste. So far I think they do a better job making rubber seal lubricant than thermal paste.

"Stable" (no crash, BSOD, prime errors etc.).

Using stock freq. now with higher voltage (1.340500v).

I got 4.3 jiggawatts stable on the AMD Vision utility auto overclocker. I haven't bothered with manual overclock because I'm both lazy, and content with my current clock. Beware: AMD Vision utility sucks at finding errors and can let you run at unstable speeds. I crashed when rendering something in blender with cpu clocked at 4.4 dillamadoos because of this.
